Best External Hard Drive Mac Time Machine
How do I share my hard drive?
I have an external hard drive. It is 1 TB. I am trying to divide the hard drive into two disks. I know I need to partition it but I love some advice on how best to do so. Currently, he is FAT 32 and I need to keep this part and then make a + NTFS on the other. The partition I'm trying to create is used for Time Machine on my mac. And I need to do on a Mac.
Open Disk Utility on the Mac and plug in your player. Click on the player when he appears on the left. On the right side, you should see a Sheet tab. Click on this issue and you can now create as many partitions as you want. By default, when you select 2 partitions, it also divides them. Use the slider to change the size of each partition. You will have your drive configured as you want. But my advice is that you keep the second FAT32 partition and not NTFS. The reason for this is because it is an external hard drive and I suppose you you intend to transfer files from Mac to PC and vice versa. If I'm right, then you will encounter problems later because, although Mac can read (and copy from) NTFS drives, it can not write to them. FAT32 is recognized across the board.
