Audio Options for Yamaha 6050 and Oppo 980?
Will I get better sound through 5.1 analog or digital connections on a regular DVD player? I think I'm going to get the Oppo 980. HDMI to the Yamaha is only vidio. I know I'll have to use analog connections when I Blu-Ray going to get HD sound, but it makes all the difference on the Oppo?
The overall buzz with Oppo is the DAC's internal quality audio circuitry – It is much better than most mid-price receivers. I would use the analog outputs to connect to Perfection Yamaha. Buy your own ears you have – Connect them both ways and see which you like better! If you do not hear the difference – to save on cables, and go with a digital connection.
